The Renaissance Doctor · A Podcast
What does it mean to flourish in the twenty-first century?.
We know more about the brain than at any time in human history, yet we remain uncertain about what it means to be human. The Renaissance Doctor explores how neurosciences, humanities and interdisciplinary inquiry can help us better understand the human condition and guide scientific and technological progress toward human flourishing, and build a more human-centred future.
Hosted by Elisabetta Burchi, MD, MBA, Psychiatrist

The mirror and the microscope.
I’m Elisabetta — clinical physician, psychiatrist, and neuromodulation researcher, born in Florence. I started this podcast because the challenge of our time is not more information — it’s reconnecting knowledge with meaning. We know more about the brain than ever, and yet we feel more confused about what it means to be human.
On every episode, I bring scientific rigour and the willingness to ask the harder, more humanistic question: what does this finding mean for the person who has to live by it?
What Listeners Say
This podcast does something rare — it treats the listener as an intelligent adult who can hold complexity. Each episode leaves me with a question I'll be turning over for days.

As a practicing physician, I forget that science has edges. Elisabetta finds those edges and shows you what's beyond them. Essential listening for anyone who works with the human mind.
